The Line Setup tabs give detailed information about the VoIP network and may be switched between Standard and Advanced view. The default view is Standard, and may be changed by clicking the button shown below:
Settings for Line 1 and Line 2 are identical.
In Standard view, a user will have the option of configuring a SIP Config tab, Features and Dial Plan settings. In Advanced view, the user is given additional options under these tabs and the option of configuring Quality of Service, Network Address Translation (NAT) and Voice Features.
Settings under the Dial Plan are as follows:
NOTE: the Dial Plan settings are identical in Standard and Advanced modes.
Local Dial Plan - is a regular expression which determines dialing behavior according to the method specified in RFC 3435. The intention of this control is to allow certain number sequences to automatically initiate a call. Use the default Local Dial Plan string unless an alternate one has been specifically provided.
See the following article for more information: Local Dial Plan - Generic Normalization Rules
Dialing Timeout - specifies how long after the last digit is entered before the VoIP phone will consider the dial string complete and submit a dial request. Range is 0-20 seconds.
Normalization- Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business uses .NET Framework regular expressions to specify numeric match patterns that the server uses to translate dial strings to E.164E.164 format. This is for performing reverse number lookup. The Normalization settings allow the Tesira VoIP card to automatically translate the dialed digits to E.164 format.
E.164 is the international telephone numbering plan that ensures devices on the Public-switched Telephone Network (PSTN) have a globally-unique number. This enables phone calls and text messages to be correctly routed to individual phones worldwide.
Multiple rules can be defined. Each rule includes a label, a number pattern and a translation. The rules are based upon lines.
Add allows the creation of a new rule.
Delete will remove the selected rule.
Clear all will delete all rules.
